Mental Health First Aid
Canada
Mental Health first Aid is the help provided to a person developing a
mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The first
aid is given until appropriate professional treatment is received or
until the crisis is resolved. The concept is based on the model of
medical first aid. Mental Health First Aid is a 12-hour training course
delivered in four modules of three hours each. Participants must attend
for the full two days to receive a Certificate of Participation.
The following mental health problems are covered: Depression, Substance
Use Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, and Psychosis and the following mental
health crisis situations are covered: Suicidal Behavior, Overdoses,
Panic Attacks, Reactions to Traumatic Events, and Behavior Associated
with Psychosis.
Anyone can benefit from Mental Health First Aid.

Photography
This digital photography/image editing course is for the beginner or
somewhat experienced. Topics will cover (but not be limited to)
photography basics, special situations encountered in digital
photography, the digital camera’s quirks and advantages, post processing
including tools like cropping, reducing file sizes for emailing, basic
Photoshop tools and techniques, FREE image editing programs and lots of
hints and tips. We will also look at the advantages and disadvantages of
printing photos at home, buying your first digital camera, stepping up
in the digital world and where to go for help in making digital
decisions.
Please bring your digital cameras and instruction manuals – if you have
your own laptop, please bring that too!

solutions to your cleaning problems. Cut down on the chemicals in your

furniture polish, air fresheners, fabric softeners, stain removers and
much, much more! Participants will take home their made from scratch

In this two hour fun filled class you will learn how to make Elegant
Designer Bath Bombs and Tub Truffles to pamper yourself or to make as a
gift for that special someone on your list. Registration fee includes
all supplies to make bath bombs and truffles, however, you will need to
bring a pair of disposable gloves, 1 large or 2 small cookie sheets and
a large glass or metal bowl (that holds 6 cups).

Lip Balm and
Moisturizing Lotion
Learn to make your own natural lip balm and lotion using luxurious,
healthy ingredients! Choose your favorite essential oils to enhance your
creations and make them uniquely yours. You will take home 6 luscious
lip balms and 3 pots of ultra moisturizing face, hand and body lotion.
Registration fee includes all supplies to make lip balm and moisturizing
lotion, however you will need to bring 1 cup glass measuring cup (for
lip balm oil blend), 2 cup glass measuring cup (for lotion blend), small
whisk or dinner fork for mixing lotion, spatula (heat resistant), old
clothes in case of oil splashes, candy thermometer (will be available
for $8 on the night of the class if necessary) and paring knife.
Optional: lipstick for lip balm color (1 Tbsp.)
