Basic Computer Skills

Using Windows XP, learn the basics about computers including:

Adobe Photoshop Elements Level 1 (Introduction)

Learn the joys of editing your own digital photography! Lean how to resize, crop, rotate, alter color and correct such things as red eye with Adobe Photoshop Elements. Basic computer knowledge required.

Working with Computer Files

Are you losing your files? Can’t remember where you saved them to? Come and learn how Windows stores files and how to work with files. Copying, deleting and moving files and folders will be taught in this class. Bring a flash drive to class if you want to learn to use it. Cds and dvds are outdated now – flash drives are the best way to save data.

We will discuss how to find what you are looking for, how to purchase it or if you are interested in selling, how to set a reasonable price, market your item and ship it. Most importantly, we will give you tips on how to avoid being scammed and keeping your credit information safe! Class also covers paypal.com and why you need an account with paypal to sell on ebay.

Facebook, what’s it all about? If you already have a Facebook account or would like to create one, this is the class for you. Windows 7 Training On Your Laptops

For people who have little experience with the Windows Operating environment. Learn to manipulate windows, use dialog boxes and menus, manoeuvre through multiple windows, create and move files and folders and type simple documents. You will need to bring your laptops with Microsoft 7 for the class. We will go over some of the differences between Windows XP to Windows 7. This class is for new computer users or for those skipping Vista and going from Windows XP to Windows 7.

You Can You Tube Too!

You’ve watched lots of videos on You Tube and thought “How Cool!” Well, why don’t you post something on You Tube? It’s free to post your own videos and the process is straightforward. You Tube is great to post family videos that just have to be shared. New digital cameras with the video feature make the process even easier! At the end of this class you will have posted a video to You Tube.
Bring your own laptops and digital cameras to this class and make sure you bring the cables too!!! Or have your short videos on a flash drive (one minute long max to start with).

Portable Document Format (.pdf) files are common and practical for saving and emailing both text and graphics. PDF’s retain their formatting and print clearly as well. It enables you to send secure documents that cannot be altered. Learn to create your own .pdf files with a free program, instead of buying Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
