FUN RUNS!!!

GRAB YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR KIDS, YOUR PARENTS


Join us for the next FUN RUNS scheduled for
Saturday, February 13th, 2010 for the “Valentine’s Day” Run
Saturday, March 27th, 2010 for the “Easter” Run

START TIME: 10:00 A.M. SHARP at the Elks Hall, Blairmore!

Here are the details:

• 2 and 5K route! No entry fees! No pre-registration. Just come, sign a waiver and enter your name for some GREAT post run prize draws.
• NOTE: There is no volunteer traffic control - you are responsible for your own well-being!
• Finish times will be recorded…in your mind. The large time display clock will be running for those interested in times!
• Bring your own hydration – no water stations on course!
• Join us post run for snacks and prizes!

GYM WALK – Parents and Tots

Location: MD McEachern Gym
Days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Dates: October 19th, 2009 to May 7th, 2010
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
No Charge

Here is a great opportunity to exercise by walking indoors for the cooler months. Just bring your walking shoes and walk!!! Strollers and ride-along toys welcome! For more information call Community Services at 403-562-8833.

Stay active, live a healthy life, starting with fun, fitness and the fundamentals of gymnastics.

Recreation classes are one time a week, you can attend as many as you want and programs are designed for all levels of participation.

Gymnastics

Parent & Baby: 12 months - 2 years, Parent & Tot: 2-3.5 years
Tumbling Tots: 3.5-4 years, Kindergym: 5&6 years


Development years are the most important! Keeping the four components of development in mind for this age group, these programs are safe, fun and structured, help to develope physical and motor skills, thinking abilities, self-confidence and promote positive social interaction. Programs introduce basic gymnastic landings, jumps, shapes and skills. Gain awareness for all gymnastic apparatus through various circuits, teaching gymnastic progressions, skills and shapes.

Gymfit: 7-11 years Teen Gymfit: 12 years & up

Based on the CANGYM system these classes are designed for fun participation, maintenance of fitness and an introduction to the fundamental gymnastic skills. Be ready for a challenge in an intense hour of conditioning and learning proper progressions for gymnastic skills. Participants are encouraged to participate in the 14 badge CANGYM program – additional badge testing dates are scheduled throughout the year.

Special Needs Programs

Individually specialized private program, designed for any special need. Please discuss individual special needs, programs and schedules with the coach.

CPP and Advanced Kindergym Program:

This challenging program is designed to build athletes, it teaches skill sequences and routines for each of the men’s and women’s artistic gymnastic apparatus, involves physical and mental yearly plans, trains athletes for inter-club competition and prepares club athletes for competition in the Canadian Provincials Program when age appropriate. This program runs a full year and an assessment is required prior to participation.
